Meet Brittney

Owner & Therapist

Hello hello! I am Brittney, a Wilmington native who feels extremely grateful to be able to give back to my community in such a transformative way! I found my roots in this field thanks to the school system, where I initially was a Professional School Counselor as I completed my Master’s of Education in Professional School Counseling, with a Play Therapy certificate to support my love for working with children. During my time, I was able to take extra courses to allow me to dual license, leading me to now work as a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate and opening Nurture & Bloom! I have experience in the schools in both the role of School Counselor and School-Based Therapist, as well as an Outpatient Therapist in the community mental health sector.

Unsurprisingly, I LOVE using play therapy to support the cognitive and developmental stages my child clients are at. I primarily approach play therapy from a non-directive standpoint, and provide parent sessions to supplement the work your kiddos are doing in their sessions. I am also trained to provide CPRT (child-parent relationship training), diving into how important it is to honor our children’s world view and perspectives. When I am working with my teen and adult clients, I approach our work from a place of curiosity, support, and non-judgment, as we explore things like trauma, anxiety, depression, relationship/family conflict, educational/work stress, life transitions, and perfectionism, just to name a few.
